NAC Update on COVID-19 to NAC's Suppliers - March 27th, 2020

Dear Valued NAC Supplier,

Observing the rapidly evolving COVID-19 outbreak we are making constant adjustments to practices and policies which will ensure NAC employee safety while allowing us to continue to serve the needs of our customers. Over the last few days, we have seen several states and cities issue orders closing all “non-essential” businesses. The intention being to reduce the places for group gatherings and reduce potential contamination by encouraging people to stay at home. As these types of “Shelter in Place” orders increase we will need to assess how that will affect our suppliers’ ability to maintain the personnel needed to perform timely shipments and related services.

NAC’s customers fall into several of the Critical Infrastructure Sectors outlined by Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA). These are areas important to national security like Energy, Transportation Systems, Water and Wastewater Systems, Defense Industrial Base, and Critical Manufacturing. The Department of Defense memorandum on Essential Critical Infrastructure Workforce dated March 20th stated, “If you work in a critical infrastructure industry, as defined by the Department of Homeland Security, you have a special responsibility to maintain your work schedule.”

In addition, NAC supports prime and subcontractor customers involved in manufacturing for Department of Defense programs which are essential to supporting National Defense. Orders from these customers carry Defense Priorities & Allocation System ratings (DPAS) DX-A3 & DO-A3 which are still in effect and take precedence over all other non-rated work. FAR Clause DFARS 252.237.7023 - Essential Contractor Service and Mission-Essential Functions also provides policy and procedures for ensuring the continuity of services in contracts containing essential contractor services.

Under these guidelines, NAC is exempt from business closure. We will remain open with business operating normally, while taking precautions to ensure social distancing, working remotely where possible, and other mitigations to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

As a supplier of materials and components for our customer’s products you are an essential part of our supply chain by extension. We are requesting our suppliers to continue to ship our orders on-time and communicate with us immediately if you learn of problems or delays. We will be monitoring the situation closely and will send updates as we get them.

If you have any questions or concerns please contact your NAC Purchasing Specialist or Account Manager.
